As the shoulder season begins, it’s an opportune time to give your online presence a thorough cleanup and update.

This not only ensures your brand remains relevant and visually appealing but also helps in maintaining a strong digital footprint. Give your next online push a good clean foundation. It’s good practice to check in on regular intervals. For instance; earlier this summer I found a parasite on my BWCI website and just today I was finally able to solidly connect my Gold Noire Band site to its social.

I’ve been preaching weekly of all the changes Google did this year. They are now firmly in place with the bugs worked out and it’s a great time to verify and update your connections. This morning everything snapped into place after months of chasing verifications.

Ahhhh! Feels sooooo good. I feel aligned!

Where to start!

#1 Check and Update Your Website Connections

Ensure that all links, social media integrations, and third-party services on your website are functioning correctly. Broken links or outdated integrations can harm user experience and SEO.

  • Use tools to scan for broken links. Like Google Analytic, SemRush, Hootsuite, Mod Pro Verify that all social media buttons and integration tools are current and properly linked. Ask a friend to help. Try the buddy system with a fellow business owner.
  • Update your SEO tags. AI is great for writing meta descriptions.
  • Update any plugins or widgets to their latest versions. Hit that update button!

2. Refresh Cover Photos and Visual Elements

Update the visual elements of your website and social media profiles to reflect the current or upcoming season. This keeps your brand appearance fresh and engaging.

  • Choose high-quality, relevant images that align with the season and your brand message. Hopefully some of the summers efforts will pay off here.
  • Ensure consistency across all platforms (website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Consider seasonal themes or upcoming holidays for visual cues. September IS the best month in Tahoe.

3. Review and Realign Your Brand Messaging

Do a Fall refresh of your website and social media profiles to ensure that the messaging is consistent with your current brand strategy. This includes taglines, about pages, and product or service descriptions.

  • Revisit your brand’s value proposition to ensure it reflects any new offerings or market positioning.
  • Update any content that no longer aligns with your brand's voice or objectives.
  • Simplify messaging where possible to improve clarity and engagement.

Now with a fresh clean platform you are ready to take on your fall marketing. Diving into your platforms on a regular basis can really help your online presence to grow and keep those every 5+ years overhauls at a min. Yes, this last year was time for a BWCI major overhaul due to the online platform changes over the past 4 years but I intend to get milage out of all my effort with regular maintenance.
